Trucks, rig costs and driver pay

Set what each rig costs to run and what each driver is paid, so every trip can be costed.

Every profit figure in Loadful — the P&L, the planner's net per mile, Rate check's margin — is revenue minus a cost Loadful works out from three things you enter: the truck's cost model, the driver's pay, and your dispatch fee. A trip missing any of them is shown as uncosted, never as free.

Admins only. Truck costs, driver pay and every profit figure built on them are visible to, and set by, members with the Admin role. Dispatchers and viewers see the operations without the money.

Trucks

Fleet → Trucks lists every rig: a truck and its trailer. Each has its own page with its specs, its cost model, what it has actually earned per mile, which drivers stand on it, and its trips, inspections and fuel receipts. Add or change rigs from Edit fleet.

  • The unit name is the key every other screen joins on — trips, costs, driver assignments. Keep it stable.
  • Retire a sold truck rather than deleting it. Its past trips still need its cost model.
  • Super Dispatch records a driver on each trip but never a rig. Assign the truck on the trip page, or give each driver a usual truck and Loadful uses it as the default.

Rig cost models

Fleet → Costs holds one cost model per rig, in two halves:

  • Fixed monthly lines — truck payment, insurance, plates and the like.
  • Variable per-mile lines — fuel at the rig's mpg, maintenance, tires and tolls. Diesel is filled from this week's regional price; where drivers' fuel receipts cover a truck's month, the P&L uses those actual prices instead.

Set the dispatch fee once for the company; it is charged on each trip's gross. Under each card, the rate standing bar compares what a mile costs on that rig, all in, with what its costed trips actually earned. Saving a cost model also re-prices that rig in the planner.

Truck cost / mile
the rig alone, before driver pay and the dispatch fee.
A mile costs
all in: rig, driver pay and dispatch fee. This is your floor.

Driver pay

Pay is set on the driver, not the truck, under Fleet → Drivers. A driver is paid per mile or per hour, and a change of rate is recorded with the date it takes effect — so a raise in March does not re-price the trips they drove in February.

  • Per mile — costed on the trip's routed miles.
  • Per hour — costed on the time the driver was on duty in the driver app. An hourly driver with no on-duty time recorded for a trip leaves that trip uncosted, rather than priced at zero labour.

Spell names the way Super Dispatch does. Synced trips find their driver by name. A driver whose name differs from Super Dispatch's spelling — a middle initial, a nickname — will not be matched, and their trips stay uncosted until the names agree.
